Here is my 1963 pontiac Catalina which I am offering here for the first time. I hate to sell the car but my needs have changed, so now I must find a new home for it. I have owned the car for approx. 6 years. It comes equiped with 389 2 barrel, slim jim automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes. Odometer reading when I bought the car was 74,000. The car was repainted by the previous owner the stock white color and is driver quality. I have done some misc. repairs and upgrades to the car. Original 2 barrel carb was rebuilt 4 years ago, the seat upolstery was repaired 3 years ago, I replaced the am radio with the correct optional am/fm radio, I also replaced the antenna with a decent used original, grills were replaced with good used originals, duel exhaust done 4 years ago, the alternater, transmission mount, crossmember mounts were replaced 2 months ago. The passenger side mounting point of the crossmember was repaired also at that time. The previous owner installed seat belts in the rear seat of the car. I installed the drivers door mirror 4 years ago. I added the stainless wheel well moldings to the car from a 63 bonneville. These items were options and did not come on the car originally. The brake lines were replaced by the previous owner. I have replaced the drivers rear lug studs with right hand thread replacments, and also replaced the drivers front drum with a good used original passenger side unit so all four wheels are now right hand thread. The car does have the original blue pontiac floor mats. It also still wears its original spiral shocks front rear all of the t3 headlight bulbs yet as I don't have the heart to remove them. The mileage is believed to be original however I don't have any records from the previous owner to back that. Everything works on the car except for the drivers wing window, the regulator is broken and I haven't got around to replacing it. The bottoms of the door panels are bad, they can be rebuilt and covered with carpet, or replaced depending on preference. The dash pad cracked two years ago in two spots. All four tires are newer and the car comes with the stock wheels hub caps. It also has the spare tire jack assy. in place in the trunk. As for body condition, I see a spot on the bottom of the drivers fender that has had a patch welded in, and the passenger rear quarter behind the wheel has had a patch welded in. The drivers quarter behind the wheel could use a lower patch welded in, has a small rust hole at the rear and minor wheel lip dent. Floors look good, no rot holes or sheet metal patches, the rear body mounts under the trunk floor have some rot and should be repaired or replaced at some point. There is some scattered surface rust under some of the stainless trim. I have never driven the car during the winters as to spare it from the salt. The car runs and drives well, no smoke, no knocks, slight lifter tick as is common with many old cars. Overall the car is what I call a nice solid original driver and could be a show car if the next owner wishes to take the car to that level. Again, just to be clear, the car is not a show car, just a nice driver with the potential to be a show car if desired. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Interested bidders are welcome to contact me with questions. I have many spare parts and some nos parts for the car which will be included if the bid or sell price reaches my buy it now. I have clear Illinois title in my name in hand. And of course this is a 40+ year old car so its sold as is.
