You are looking at a 1968 cougar XR-7 from the factory, I bought the car in 2002. it is a GT Clone It has all the factory equipment off of another 1968 GT that was parted out years ago and added to it before I bought the car. The engine was completely rebuilt this spring and has about 1,500 miles on it. It has .30 over pistons all new bearings heads are redone and runs great with an edelbrock performer cam and carburetor. It sat for about 8 years before it became my project so consequently the transmition needs some work, when the transmition is cold it takes a little patience to get going but when it's warmed up it works good. Maybe a sticking valve? I replaced the vacume modulator but it and the bands could use some adjusting if I were to keep the car I would have the transmition rebuilt; and a new exhaust system added to it. Options are power steering (needs a seal replaced on the control arm), Disc brakes (with new pads on front), Air Conditioning (everything needed is installed inside, but needs all of the components for under the hood). Headlight covers are fully functional tail light sequential lights work on right side, they all worked last time I cleaned the connections they need cleaned again.
Interior is Deluxe style black with reupholstered front seats, the back seat still needs redone and a new dash pad. All guages work but the alternator guage. The right side of the dash (oil pressure side) I would also have replaced. All of the interior lights work and the original AM radio.
Exterior color is aqua blue with a green pearl very nice eye catcher the paint job is 6 years old and has a few minor chips the most noticable is on the left of the trunk and one on the right rear extension both smaller than a thumb print. It has aluminum american racing rims and toyo tires, with air shocks in the rear.
I had always planned on keeping this car, and finishing it but with a recent marriage and a baby on the way my loss is your gain. This is still an unfinished project with a little more work necessary. But is sure fun to cruise and show off.
