1966 Mustang Convertible Striaght 6, with automatic transmission. Body Condition Pro's: This mustang has an older restoration. It is still very solid and clean. I would guess that the restoration is over 10 years old. The car has had new full length floors on both sides, quarter patch panels with drop downs on both sides, new door skins on both sides and patch panels on the bottom of both fenders. The body work is pretty decent. You cannot see any filler work. Enclosed in the pictures you will see that the trunk frame rails are just about perfect. They are clean with no rust or repairs. Where the leaf springs bolt, fornt perches, are extremely clean too. The doors open and close smoothly. They could be adjusted better to match the body lines. Body Condition Con's: The car is not perfect. The hood and trunk have some dents from hail. The front fender up front by the head lights are starting to indicate age. The lip on the trunk on the outer corners are indicating age. The top is old and needs replacing. It does go up and down. The core support is rust free and so is the battery box area, but the seam on the left apron is showing it age. "light rust" I did include this in the pictures. Interior Pro's: The car has an interior kit with all seats redone along with matching door panels. There is a new dash pad and the dash plate under the windshiled is rust free. Newer carpeting, not faded. All of the interior trim is there. It has a center counsel. Interior Con's: Not all the istruments in the dash are working. The turn signals and headlights work. The gas gauge needs to be looked at and the speedometer needs a new gear and possible a cable. The dash is in great shape. I suspect that the problem with the gauges is a ground issue. Drivability: The car drives down the road nice and straight. It has new tires and the rims are perfect. The exhaust is newer, but has a small leak ad the up front. The exhaust is real clean and does not need replacing. I just has a leak. Overall: This car is a daily driver. It isn't a $24k show car and it isn't a basket. You can easily drive this anywhere. I would suggest driving it the way it is and fixing the small stuff. Give it a couple years and then drop your big $$ money into it! This car is ready to drive and enjoy. You can keep plenty busy fixing the small stuff and forget the restoration. Restatement: There is no rust on the quarters, they have been replaced. There is no rust on the doors, they have new skins. The floors are solid and have been replaced. The front fenders have patches and show their age up by the headlights. You can see that in a few years that there will be rust coming through. The car runs and drives! Contact: Please contact me via cell if you have any further questions. If you make a mistake in bidding, please call me asap so I can correct it. Thanks for the interest. Tim 763-245-6507 Update August 21: I had a couple call on the car and their were some inquires about the condition and drivability. First, this car starts up and runs fine. It goes down the road straight, with no pulling to the right or left. There is newer brakes on it and exhaust. As far as condition of the car it is very nice. If you were to purchase it, you would not have the disassemble it to get it back to respectible condition. It is in very good condition. I think my description is being percieved as over critical. Both fenders and the trunk lid are not perfect in comparison to the rest of the car. If you were to cite bad areas these are the worst. There is no blistering on the quarters or doors. The pictures show you how clean the frame rails are. The floor pans have been replaced and the workmanship is good and doesn't need anything. The paint is a pearil (metalic) white. It is not the wimbeldon white for the year. I am not a car appraiser, but it is definately better than the NADA book value for low retail and that is more than $12k! I put this up as a no reserve auction because I have had the car for a while and I understand the shipping cost $$. If you have any further questions, please call and thanks for the interest. TT Updated September 7: This car has been relisted due to a non-paying bidder. It isn't fair to the people selling cars to incur the expense of selling on ebay if you are just playing around. My last fee was over $100. Please only bid if you are truely interested and are bidding on something you can afford. This car is a great deal for someone. It isn't $30k! and it isn't rusted out. How many cars on ebay show you all the rust spots of the car? Hardly any. I have included pictures of the frame rails, leaf springs, floors, and trunk drop downs. This car is real solid and not a lot of fluff! You will not get a car that has bondo over cardboard upon delivery. A couple years ago, I purchase a car and was told that it was rust free. It sure was, it had tin covering the rust and tar poured over the tin and finished with splatter paint. It took a good picture, but in reality it was junk. It needed to be tore down I was out big $$ and really disappointed. My mustang is solid and just needs some tinkering. Or, you can just leave it and drive it anywhere. I wouldn't be affaid to drive this to Texas. Please call me or email me if you have any questions. Thanks Tim 763-245-6507 Minnesota. On Sep-10-08 at 19:57:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Updated Sept 10: An interested party wanted to see the top. The top goes up and down fine. The frame is in extremely nice shape, no rust or rot on the front that goes down on the windshield bow. You cannot tell to much with the top being black, but the top itself needs replacing.
