You are bidding on one 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Graduate with around 60K-70K miles. Pedal wear indicates low to average wear. The odometer has been broken for awhile, but car was not driven much, yet cranked regularly, since around 2003. The previous owner got pregnant and quit driving the car actively in 2003. She had owned the car since 1994. While parked in her driveway, a tree fell across the top and ripped it. Thus no top at the moment. Thankfully only one small dent in the driver fender and one small one on the hood resluted. The vinyl top took the worst. Top frame is in fine condition. Consider this a rescued Alfa, by someone who has owned Alfa's for over ten years. I just couldn't stand to see this thing not being used to it's potential. I have put alot of blood sweat and tears into this thing for over two months. It is now ready to be enjoyed. I have excellent feedback, so no worries. I will answer any questions you may have, and have tried to represent everything I know might be of importance, on this car. GOOD: Only two spots of rust (other than normal surface) on entire car. The battery leaked into the spare tire well thus corroding out the area. See photos. You can have a replacement put in VERY easily on these cars. The only other spot I have found is a quarter size hole in the floor near the front passenger jacking point, see photos. Other than that, BODY is very straight, rust free, and clean. No evidence of any accidents. Paint is a little thin in places on hood and decklid, and a little cloudy in other places on the hood and decklid, but cloudiness would come out if you get the right place to just buff it. Engine compression is 145-140-135-135 cold, from front to back. Exhaust appears new from catalytic convertor back. Car drives, stops, handles like an Alfa should. A/C WORKS AND BLOWS VERY COLD!!!!! Rear Axle Bearings done recently. CAR DRIVES AND RUNS VERY WELL. ALL GEAR SYNCROS WORK WITH NO GRINDING, DOES NOT POP OUT OF REVERSE. NEW PARTS AS FOLLOWS: Clutch Master Cylinder, Battery, Rebuilt radiator, Gas tank, Gas tank sending unit, Crank sensors, Main Bosch fuel pump, Spark Plugs, Wipers, Engine fan(Euro Spec.), Fan shroud, Coil, Air Flow Meter hose, Thermostat, Radiator cap, Dist cap and rotor. ALL FLUIDS JUST CHANGED (Radiator, Brake, Clutch, Differential, Transmission, Engine Oil.) BAD: Tires should be replaced soon. Plenty of tread, just a little dry. Needs new top installed. All cables/cable ends/cable stops are there. Power mirror switch not working. Blower heat fan light comes on, but fan doesn't. Clock not working. Speedometer is not working. Someone broke the reset for the tripometer which can be repaired at the same time as when you have the speedo fixed. Rear view mirror doesn't adjust quite right. You may be able to take it off and fix it, but I have not investigated. No radio, but Blaupuknt speakers are in the kick panels, only speaker grills in the package tray, and car has factory Kenwood Amplifier. WHAT WOULD I DO????: Repaint the wheels( trim rings and center caps in good shape). Replace motor mounts( mounts aren't broken, but are sagging a little). Replace intake boots (I can see some cracking on a couple of them). Possibly replace the cold start valve. Car turns over a few times more than my 1982 Spider before it cranks up. After it cranks, it warms up just fine with no issues. Other than that, you are good to go. I have a 1982 Spider Veloce, so I can't justify keeping this one also. To be honest, there is not much difference between the performance of the two. I actually think this one feels a little quicker, but the main difference is in the styling. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL!!!! $500.00 DEPOSIT WITHIN THREE DAYS OF AUCTION END. Car is available for sale locally as well. If you are in the area, car is avaiIable for test drives and viewing. I can assist with delivery for a fee, within a couple of hours of Charlotte. Other than that buyer is responsible for shipping. I expect winning bidder to be professional. I have good feedback, and intend on keeping it that way. Thanks and good luck!!!
